Sep 15, 2014 — Spectrum Celebrates Milestone in Construction of New Treatment Center

Spectrum held a “topping off” ceremony Friday, September 5, 2014, as the main steel beam was hoisted into place on its new 100-bed residential substance abuse treatment facility in Westborough, Massachusetts. Spectrum patients and employees signed the beam before a crane lifted it to its symbolic position at the center of the structure.

Apr 22, 2014 — New Federal Grant Supports Treatment of Co-Occurring Disorders for Bay State Youth

Spectrum was recently awarded nearly $600,000 by the U.S. Department of Justice to implement a new co-occurring disorders program in Massachusetts.  The program is designed to improve treatment outcomes and reduce criminal activity among detained male youth.  The new program will be the first-of-its-kind in Massachusetts.

Jan 22, 2014 — Spectrum Forms Institutional Review Board for Research Projects

Spectrum Health Systems has formed an Institutional Review Board (IRB) to approve and monitor federally funded research projects conducted at Spectrum, as well as external organizations. Spectrum's IRB is designed to help investigators comply with the ethical guidelines and regulatory requirements for research involving human subjects. Specifically, the IRB reviews research protocols and related materials (e.g., informed consent documents and investigator brochures) in advance of the research and through periodic reviews.
